Open-cell sponge
Open-cell sponge rubbers possess an interconnected cell structure that permits limited absorption and transfer of gases and fluids. Because air can pass freely from cell to cell, these materials have a high degree of compressibility yet recover quickly exhibiting low compression set. This makes them ideal for applications involving repetitive distortion.
These materials are used in a variety of applications including shock absorption, cushioning, sound and vibration dampening and low closure force seals and gaskets.
Available in sheets, blocks, rolls or as finished components.
- Excellent sound deadening properties
- Good permeability
- Outstanding ‘bounce-back’ properties.
